ABOUT US

The INDEPENDENT Sky Alliance is nicosia's leading airline alliance. With our administrative headquarters in Berne (Switzerland), the alliance unites the networks of our member airlines and its affiliates, providing our customers with seamless access to hundreds of destinations around the globe. Furthermore, the alliance has to offer one of the most generous rewarding schemes the industry has ever known - called the "INDEPENDENT Miles Club". Incorporated by all our member airlines, passengers are encouraged to collect miles on journeys throughout the entire alliance network and redeem them on flight and hotel bookings, service upgrades, products from the "INDEPENDENT Miles.Shop" or other amenities and premiums on offer.

OUR LONG TERM COMMITMENT

Unlike other alliances we never impose strict guidelines or principles on our member airlines. We also do not know any form of hierarchies or different membership levels and operate on a democratic decision-making basis. To ensure the quality of our products and services and to further improve our network towards the best possible level of co-operation between our members, we welcome the operation of a homogenous fleet consisting of modern and western-made aircraft equipped with realistic and quality focused cabin layouts. Again, unlike other alliances around, teamwork and communication rather than statistics alone stand at the core of our business priorities. We are not primarily interested in the physical size of an enterprise but rather more in the person behind it. By long term planning, we do not need a "one-airline-per-country-clause", instead we support our members so they can become a leading enterprise for an entire region leaving them with enough space to grow and avoiding the risk of competition within the alliance. This long term believe and motivation has governed the alliance for the time of its existence and resulted in the fact that most members are today in one of the leading positions within their region of activity and operating in a sustainable and financially healthy way.

RECRUITMENT

Because of the fact that only rarely alliance members leave or are dissolved and furthermore most of our member airlines are being well established to already provide good coverage of their region, the areas of the world in which we are still searching for new potential alliance members to join is limited, primarily to protect and not to damage the business model of our existing members; if however you can identify yourself with what we do, your enterprise fulfils the basic requirements outlined further below and is based in one of the following countries or areas, we would like to hear from you and encourage you to make an application.

CURRENT FOCUS OF RECRUITMENT

*Africa
*Australia / New Zealand

PLEASE NOTE

Please note that all applications from carriers of a different origin than one of the states or regions mentioned above may automatically result in a rejection. Thank you for your comprehension.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

To make sure your application can be considered, please check whether these minimum criteria are being met by your enterprise:

Business Area: Please make sure your business is only based in one of the areas stated above and not in one of the areas excluded from Recruitment.

Business Model: Please do only apply if your business is mainly focused on passenger transport and its operation based on a hub network at which the business operates at least a few hundred weekly departures so it can actually make a worthwhile addition to the existing network.

Business Establishment: Please do only apply if your company has already been in business for a couple of weeks and is able to show healthy profits at a reasonable rate of growth. Please do only apply if your airline operates a minimum fleet of 30 aircraft transporting at least 70.000 passengers per week and your holding (if applicable) holds at very least a 50% stake in your airline.

If you are considering an application and you are in doubt about meeting one or more of these criteria, do not hesitate to contact our members "Air Shenlong" or "Nippon Air (also in german)" in advance and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
